Last week was one to be remembered.
I went out and had some fun times with friends. The Whiskey Saints played and had a video release, which I was late for, but it was fun, none-the-less. Got back in the studio, only to realize that I need to spend more time in the studio. I have been lazy and unmotivated lately. I need some drive. I’ve had a lot of things and people on my mind, draggin me down. So, I need to focus and quit wasting time worrying about everything, especially when I have no control over it. I torture myself sometimes but I’m working on that. Like I said… FOCUS!!!
But that’s not what will go in down in history. (Now I am a very unsympathetic and cynical person, so pardon the lack of sympathy here…)
Before the weekend, Ed Mcmahon passed away. He was a beloved man, a bit before my time, but I still remember him from StarSearch & the Publishers Clearinghouse deal. Those were the days… Early in the week, it was reported that Farrah Fawcette died. In her day she was the epitome of hotness & even up until the day she died, she was a fox.
Before the news had had a chance to rest after that news, about five hours later, I saw a post on Twitter that said Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital, & by the time I went to find out more about it, he too had passed away. That was very weird & for some reason not surprising news. Everyone was crazy with reporting about it as they usually are. It was all you heard about all day & his music was seemingly playing from a universal speaker, no matter where you were. I went to the Chinese restaurant next to work & “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough” was playing!?
Now I grew up LOVING Michael Jackson! He was an incredible musician, talent, dancer & artist galore. I would listen to his music and watch him dance from as long as I can remember. He had an unfortunate life, despite being, perhaps the most famous person in the world. As he became less relative in popular culture, he seemingly began to become less in touch with reality and quite frankly, odd.
I think Sarah Silver man said it best today on Twitter, when she said…
“Had the scariest dream that Michael Jackson died& no one knew why& we all suddenly appreciated his talent& I thought, what good is that now?”
I plan on doing an MJ mix very soon. I’ll post ASAP, stay tuned.
Oh yeah… Me &Fink went to see Phoenix. The sound was INCREDIBLE!!!

A few weekends ago, I went to see TIGA with Angela at The Avalon in Hollywood. It was a pretty dope show. I had never seen him DJ before, so I was stoked. He did not disappoint. I gave the new homie (&one of the promoters at the show) Brad Hoss one of my DJ shirts for himself & one to give to TIGA. He put it in his merch box, I hope he got it. The next night I went to see Kill The Noise at Vanguard in Hollywood. Again I never seen him live before. He too killed it. After his set, DJ Dan started to spin. I checked him out for a bit then decided to go have a smoke before I left. When i got to the smoking area, KTN & a few of his friends were down there. I introduced myself and gave him one of my shirts, which he dug and said he would wear it, so I got that goin for me. We chatted for a bit about iPhones & Blackberrys, then I peaced out.

Here are some mixes I have not posted yet. Enjoy…

The day finally came for the much anticipated Shawapalooza party. There were about 300 or more people expected. We were set. It was going to be the party to end all Shaw parties.
There were a good 100 people there by around 4PM and the police had come a few times, when the landlord showed up and told everyone they had to leave. It was quite the bummer. The Whiskey Saints & the super hyped debut performance of the Buck Juan Criz, had not even happened yet. I must say that the police would definitely have come if that had happened.
Everyone left for a bit then about 70 or so people ended up coming back. It was a great time and everyone got re-tarded. Everyone came inside when it got dark and SParrow & Mr. Goodling (Joel’s Dad). Played some songs and everyone sang. Drunken campfire singing, sans the fire.
Then it was time for The Buck Juan Criz show, inside. Everyone was super stoked & no one knew what to expect. Joel started things off. He rapped and introed all of us. People went nuts. Then we started the show. The first track is destined to make people get Buck wild, hence our name. We actually did the show out of order, but it didn’t matter. I must say I think people were impressed. I hope to keep the Criz workin on new shiz. We’re doin big things!
Time jumped on the decks for a few hours then we took turns spinning for a while. People got crazier & crazier as the night went on. It seemed like people just kept showing up. Our spinning turned into more of a spectator event than a dance party as it got later, but it was still fun. Over all the party, though it did not go as planned, was quite a time. I wonder where the homies are gonna move to now?

I took a trip home this past weekend. It was my brother Zach’s Birthday, my good friends Kevin & Natalie’s wedding, & also Mother’s Day. Friday I saw some of the homies but kicked it at home with Zach all night. We just sat around clownin, just like old times. The next day we went to visit my pap, then went to Jerry’s Curb Service. If you don’t know you better aks somebody. Then I went to the wedding reception, lookin good, I must say. It was so good to see so many good friends and other’s that I have not seen in quite a while. Met a few new people as well. One in particular… I think I “fell” that night, cuz it hurts. Anyways to my previous statement of “False Alarm…” I stand corrected, just not exactly as I suspected. We crashed The Embassy Suites. Partying on every floor, people everywhere & of course the police came & as far as I know atleast one person got arrested. Congrats Festor & Natalie, I am glad I could be there for that experience. & A GIANT THANK YOU TO LINDA!!! Kevin has the coolest mom ever! On Mother’s Day we went to Brunch, then my dad & my bro had to head to Harrisburg, so I kicked it with my moms for the day and we went to dinner at one of her favorite spots. Then I went to say goodbye to some friends and off to bed to get up and head back to LA. I had such a great time, best trip home yet.

It’s been a while since my last serious post. I have been busy with work and “Buck Practice.” But here it goes…
While everyone was at Coachella, I unfortunately was. I really at home. I really wish I had gone. There were so many sets that I wanted to see. If you listen to popular radio, then you are unaware that electro music is the new rock and DJs are the new rockstars, no matter what American Idol might tell you, The line up was full of DJs & electro rock bands. I can’t even begin to list them. They threw in The Cure & Paul McCartney to get the mainstream people to come, but if you are intune with what’s really popular, you were there to see the DJs. & I don’t mean the fucking hipsters that spend their parents money on the clothes their parents old clothes and sunglasses at thrift shops (don’t even get me started on fucking hipsters…) I’m talking about the true music heads that know who they are watching. You have no idea how many times I have gone to see worldclass DJs spin and some 16 year old in bright clothes & frogskins has walked up to me and pointed to the stage and said, “who is that?”.
…Oh yeah right I forgot what I was supposed to be talking about. So the day after Coachella I went to see The Presets with The Golden Filter at The Glasshouse. Paparazzi opened up with a DJ set. I saw him outsid afterward and gave him one of my DJ shirts. The golden Filter was next…

I had just recently got turned on to them. I really dig their disco sound. Not to mention their lead singer is super hot. Their set was good, you could tell that no one new who they were. They liked the music, but were there for The Presets. Finally The Presets came out…

They had just performed at Coachella & I heard that they were amazing. When I saw them their set was super dope. So much sound from 2 people. It got super hot in the building while everyone was jumping around to them. It’s refreshing to see a group perform their music, rather than spin it every once in a while.
Also I went to see what I was told is the last performance of the homie Sam’s Band Groamsville. It was fuckin rockin. 3 piece, no bass, guitar, drums & vocals. Sam was shredding. He stripped down for the performance because he got so HOTT!!!
