A huge group of us celebrated the birthdays of Bransby & D-Town (Dustin) by renting a sick party/limo bus and ravaged the town…

The same group that went to his last show, plus a few more, attempted yet again to see Calvin Harris at Vanguard. The crowd was huge & I was separated from the group, as usually happens to me. I spent most of the night right on the side of the stage studying Calvin during his set. It was a dope show…
A few friends & I, thanks to the man, Brad Hoss, went to see Felix Cartal at Avalon. Dope show… Dope night…

Hard Haunted Mansion. No words can explain this weekend, but i’ll try…
Good friends, good bands, good times!!!
At some point in time, for some reason, Angela & I took an expensive cab ride…

I got a new toy, an Akai MPD24. Using it in unison, with my Hercules RMX, I’m making better mixes…
Also, I checked out a local Drum & Bass show with the homies Alex & Kassie, which was surprisingly sick. Afterwards, I got quite unsurprisingly sick… =\
I went home to Burgh Town for my birthday. I spent some time with my friends and family. & of course, I took in a Steeler game. Ironically they played San Diego, & again, unsurprisingly we won!
I don’t have any photos from this one, but Myself, the lovely Joana & Angela, & Max & Cory & their boys went to Vanguard to see FischerSpooner. It was a great night for everyone.
…& after all of this, I woke up with cookie crumbs in my bed. ;]

The Golden Filter & The Presets
(& I can’t forget about Groamsville!)
It’s been a while since my last serious post. I have been busy with work and “Buck Practice.” But here it goes…
While everyone was at Coachella, I unfortunately was. I really at home. I really wish I had gone. There were so many sets that I wanted to see. If you listen to popular radio, then you are unaware that electro music is the new rock and DJs are the new rockstars, no matter what American Idol might tell you, The line up was full of DJs & electro rock bands. I can’t even begin to list them. They threw in The Cure & Paul McCartney to get the mainstream people to come, but if you are intune with what’s really popular, you were there to see the DJs. & I don’t mean the fucking hipsters that spend their parents money on the clothes their parents old clothes and sunglasses at thrift shops (don’t even get me started on fucking hipsters…) I’m talking about the true music heads that know who they are watching. You have no idea how many times I have gone to see worldclass DJs spin and some 16 year old in bright clothes & frogskins has walked up to me and pointed to the stage and said, “who is that?”.
…Oh yeah right I forgot what I was supposed to be talking about. So the day after Coachella I went to see The Presets with The Golden Filter at The Glasshouse. Paparazzi opened up with a DJ set. I saw him outsid afterward and gave him one of my DJ shirts. The golden Filter was next…

I had just recently got turned on to them. I really dig their disco sound. Not to mention their lead singer is super hot. Their set was good, you could tell that no one new who they were. They liked the music, but were there for The Presets. Finally The Presets came out…

They had just performed at Coachella & I heard that they were amazing. When I saw them their set was super dope. So much sound from 2 people. It got super hot in the building while everyone was jumping around to them. It’s refreshing to see a group perform their music, rather than spin it every once in a while.
Also I went to see what I was told is the last performance of the homie Sam’s Band Groamsville. It was fuckin rockin. 3 piece, no bass, guitar, drums & vocals. Sam was shredding. He stripped down for the performance because he got so HOTT!!!

MSTRKRFT Album Release/Listening Party
![]()
On Monday night, there was an album release/listening party for their new album “Fist of God” at the Roxy. As soon as I got there I saw JFK (Half of MSTRKRFT… Not who you were thinking.) & Steve Aoki out front on Sunset Blvd. When I got inside, Dan-Oh was rockin it as the place filled up. I did not see Al-P, though I assume he was there. NORE came through. Now the moment we were all waiting for… (even though I’ve heard it all already) the new MSTRKRFT album! About half way through the record, Steve Aoki came in the club and the place went nuts. He set up his shit and before the album was done, he started his set. I have a new found love for Steve Aoki now. His set was BANGIN!!! He is totally out of control, dancing around an screeming in the mic between songs. He was chugging a bottle of Belvedere and soon began pouring it all over the predominently under-age crowd. He brought Andy Milanakis out, who was faded, to MC for a minute. It was not very good, but it was funny. Next up was Felix Cartal. I was very eager to watch his set as he did not use any tables or cdjs or anything. He used a program like Ableton, which apparently did most of the work for him. He did not even need headphones! I wish I knew exactly what was going on up there. Finally was Daniel Ledisko from LA Riots. ![]()
He banged it out for a while, and really got the crowd movin. What I thought was shitty, is that many people at the show, each time a new DJ would come out, someone would turn to me and say, “who’s that?” Why the hell were those people there?! Anyways the show was very fun & inspiring, to say the least.

Pendulum show
On Saturday I started off at a gathering at Sparrow’s place before the premiere of Sam’s movie “The Clubhouse Chronicles.” It was at the corner bar in Burbank. I could not stay long however, as I had to meet up with Tim & Angela downtown at Club Nokia to see Pendulum.
I had never seen Pendulum live before, but was told by Tim that it was going to be spectacular. A group called the Glitch Mob opened up the show. They were pretty sick. I would hope to have a digital group like that one day, because performing that way looks soo fun.
I won’t go into what we were doing at the show, as that’s not important. Pendulum however did not disappoint. They were set up as a live rock band, which I did not expect. Their sound was full and pounding, the lights were mezmorizing, and the crowd was lovin’ it.![]()
After a quick search for someone I am afraid I’ll never see again, we left downtown and headed right to the studio at the Shaw. Some of Angela’s friends came back with us to chill and hear us spin. Personally I feel as though we get better with every session we have. I am not quite sure what time it was when we finally quit, but it was late or early, or whatever. Overall, it was a great night, needless to say i did absolutely nothing on Sunday. ATRAK on Friday & Calvin Harris with Paul Oakenfold on Saturday. This weekend should be equally as wonderful.
